Kansas University - Coach Price

Most players I talk to say that they want to play division 1 baseball.

My life was changed for the better because of my experience of playing four years of D1 baseball. Still to this day, my teammates are some of my best friends, were groomsman in my wedding, and get together every year just to catch up and talk about the glory days.

With that being said, D1 baseball is a huge commitment that is not for everybody…

You will have a fall season filled with practices and intersquad scrimmages, intense winter workouts, the spring season, and then you will be expected to play in a summer wooden bat league.

(The only exception to playing in the summer is when pitchers have thrown a lot of innings in the spring and coaches prefer that they rest their arm in the summer)

Here is the Kansas Head Baseball Coach giving you a more detailed rundown on a normal day for a D1 baseball player at Kansas:

I have one question for you this week… and be honest! Does this scare you or excite you?

If it’s kind of scary and you prefer more of a balanced college experience, I recommend looking to play baseball at the D3 or NAIA level.

Have a great week,

Coach Franco
